Today we will fly out of various airports – Birmingham,
Orlando, Lexington, Atlanta, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and Alberta,
Canada – to begin our journey to bring Lead Like Jesus to Uganda. Most of us
will link up in the Amsterdam airport, while a few of us will meet (some for
the first time) in Entebbe, Uganda. Please pray that we have safe travel and
that our luggage and other materials make it through the various connections without
any problems. Continue to pray that God prepares us and the people we will come
in contact with for the work that He has laid out for us to do.
Sat, August 11 – Arrive in Uganda
After nearly 24 hours in the air, and several
more hours waiting on connecting flights, we will arrive in Uganda at the

travel by bus to our hotel in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, to get some much

the team will get some much needed rest.

a Lead Like Jesus facilitator training course for selected pastors and ministry
leaders. Pray for us as we conduct our first Encounter workshops, facilitator

our continued health, and that we would be rested and prepared for the upcoming
activities in Iganga and Jinja.
Sat, August 18 – LLJ Encounter/Pastor training in Iganga
Today we will be facilitating a Lead Like Jesus
Encounter workshop and will be providing specialized training in discipleship
and church leadership to Pastors and Ministry leaders who attended our
Encounter workshops last October. Pray that the message of servant leadership
that Jesus modeled for us would take root in the hearts of those who attend
today. Pray also for our health and that we would be granted patience and
endurance.
Sun, August 19 – Relaxation Day – Church and Dinner at Tabitha’s Father’s home
Today we will attend church and spend the
afternoon relaxing after a long, hard, and tiring week. In the evening, Tabitha
Kyambadde, who is our Ugandan host, will take us to her father’s home, where
her family and neighbors will host a dinner for us. It will be a great time of
food, fellowship, singing, and praising God. Pray that we would be energized
during our time of worship and fellowship and that we receive the rest we need
to complete the rest of our journey and the assignment that God has called us
to do.
Mon & Tue, August 20-21 – LLJ Encounters/Facilitator training/VBS/Soccer
in Iganga & Jinja
During these two days, we will be facilitating
two (2) Lead Like Jesus Encounter workshops (one in the city of Iganga and the
other in the nearby city of Jinja), while concurrently conducting VBS and
Soccer skills training for the children. On the second day, we will conduct a
Lead Like Jesus facilitator training course for selected pastors and ministry
leaders in Iganga. Pray for us as we conduct our Encounter workshops,
facilitator training sessions, and VBS/Soccer programs that the message of
Christ’s love will touch hearts and change lives. Continue to pray that God
would grant us an attitude of patience and flexibility.
Wed, August 22 – Travel to Kampala
This

trip, we will be able to do a little sightseeing and will stop to visit the
place where the Nile River begins its long journey to the Mediterranean Sea.

Pray for our safe travel to Kampala, our continued good health, and for the
rest that we need.

Kampala that works to free women and young girls who are trapped in sexual
slavery. Pray for those we will serve during these two days, that hearts will
be shaped by Christ’s love and that lives will be transformed by the power of
the Holy Spirit.
Sat, August 25 – LLJ Encounter in Entebbe/Facilitator and Pastor training in Kampala

discipleship and church leadership in Kampala to Pastors and Ministry leaders
who attended our Encounter workshops last October. Pray for safe travel for
those who will be going to Entebbe and for our continued good health and safety.
Pray also that the Lord will help us to remain focused on finishing well all
that He has given us to do.
Sun, August 26 – Church in Kampala & Travel to United States
This
morning we will attend church in Kampala, eat lunch, pack up our things, and
then rest in our hotel for a few hours before we get on our bus for the final
time and travel to the Entebbe airport and our flight home. Today will be a
bittersweet time for us, as we look forward to going back home to our family
and friends but we will be sad to leave behind our Ugandan brothers and
sisters, not knowing whether we will ever see them again in this life, but
comforted to know that one day we will have a great reunion with them in heaven.
Pray that today’s time of worship will inspire and revitalize us as we praise
and thank Him for all that he has done. Please pray for our safe travel back
home and that we are able to clear customs and make our connecting flights
without any major problems. Pray also for all of our Ugandan friends, that they
may be encouraged and strengthened to take the message of Lead Like Jesus to
others.
Mon, August 27 – Travel & Arrival in the United States
As our trip comes to an end and we go back to
our normal lives, please continue to pray for the people of Uganda, and that lives
will be forever changed by servant leaders who live, love, and lead like Jesus.
Pray that we find opportunities to share our stories about how God is using
Lead Like Jesus to transform Uganda and ask Him to continue to use us to inspire
people to lead like Jesus and to use their influence to be the “salt and light”
to everyone they come in contact with. Pray that God will continue to raise up
leaders who “seek to serve, rather than to be served” and who will build His Kingdom
by “making disciples of all nations”. To God be all glory and honor, forever
and ever, Amen!
Thank you for all of
your prayers.
May God bless You.
I thank my God every time I remember
you.
In all my prayers for all of you, I
always pray
with joy because of your partnership in
the gospel
from the first day until now, being
confident of this,
that he who began a good work in you will
carry
it on to completion until the day of Christ
Jesus.
